Sale of unhygienic food items in full swing

RAWALPINDI: The stallholders are selling unhygienic food, which is causing abdominal diseases among the residents of the city while the food inspectors are playing role of a silent spectator. With advent of the summer season, stalls of ice creams and other eatables have been set up in roadsides. The stallholders are selling sub-standard and unhygienic food items, which are causing diseases among the residents while the food inspectors are allegedly receiving extortion from the stallholders. The residents pointed out that the stalls have been set up in Raja Bazaar, Murree Road, Khayaban Sirsyed, and Bhabra Bazaar. The residents have demanded the higher authorities to take notice of the situation and ensure the elimination of the selling of unhygienic food.
