Dam to be constructed for new Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: The decision has been taken to construct a rainwater dam to meet the water requirements at the new Islamabad airport. The sources said that the rainwater dam is going to be constructed to supply water to the modern green airport at Fateh Jang Road. It may be recalled that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had pointed out in its report that the airport authority had not made any arrangements for the supply of water to the airport. The sources said that the underground water level is very low in the locality wherein the airport is being constructed and the water would not be available even after digging the land, more than a 1,000 feet.  Therefore, the respective institutions have decided to construct a dam for rainwater storage.
