Transporters refuse to reduce fare

RAWALPINDI: The transporters have refused to reduce the fares despite a notification of reduction in the fares. Transport authority secretary general issued a notification of decrease in fare, but failed to get it implemented on wagons, mini buses, Qingqi rickshaws, and all other public transport vehicles. The transporters have refused to reduce the fares and are charging Rs 15 from stop to stop from the users of public transport. After restriction of wagons on the Murree Road, the Qingqi rickshaws have started charging Rs 20 instead of Rs 15 stop to stop, and have also increased the fare of Saddar from Committee Chowk to Rs 30. The administration has failed to get its orders implemented which have encouraged the transporters.
