CTP distributes awareness pamphlets among motorcyclists

RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) during its ongoing campaign in connection with the traffic week, have distributed 10,300 awareness pamphlets among the motorcyclists.According to City Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, the CTP is running a special campaign aimed at raising awareness about the traffic rules and road safety, particularly among the motorcyclists. The CTP’s Mobile Education Unit has been arranging special briefing sessions on road safety at different educational institutions and other public places in the city during traffic week, he said in a statement.In order to make the campaign more effective and meaningful, traffic wardens and officers were issued special instructions, he said adding that the Education Wing of the traffic police had been making efforts to spread awareness so that the road journey could be made more safer. The CTO urged the people to cooperate with traffic wardens, who are on the road to facilitate them. A special squad is available to help and facilitate the citizens on helpline 1915.He said that all traffic issues could be resolved by observing traffic rules, which were for the safety and protection of the road users. Traffic signals should not be violated as such violations with negligent driving may lead to fatal accidents, he added. He said that the traffic police is also disseminating information on various roads and traffic signals in all tehsils of the district in order to educate the citizens about traffic rules, signals, and the damages caused by traffic violations.
