Terrorist arrested from Rawat


ISLAMABAD: A joint team of officials of the Islamabad police and an intelligence agency on Wednesday conducted an operation in Sihala and arrested a terrorist.A police spokesman said in a statement on Wednesday that on a tip-off, a special team comprising SP (Saddar), SP (Industrial Area), and intelligence officials conducted a raid in Rawat in the jurisdiction of Sihala police and nabbed a terrorist recovering a gun and 20 rounds from his possession. The terrorist, who is around 20 years old, got training in Miran Shah. He came to the twin cities in October 2013, along with his accomplice. He has committed various terrorist activities and is also involved in smuggling of illegal weapons and other heinous crimes. Both of the terrorists attacked had been involved in several crimes including the murder of a police officer. They had also attempted a suicide attack at an Imambargah in Rawalpindi, in which his accomplice was shot dead before committing the attack. The terrorist in custody is also the accomplice of those nine terrorists, who have been arrested from various areas of the twin cities since January, this year. Five hand grenades and two pistols were previously recovered from the terrorists. Two cases have been also registered against the terrorists at the Sihala Police Station under Explosives Act and 324/386/427 PPC.
