EPA seals several sites under anti-dengue drive

RAWALPINDI: The Environment Protection Agency (EPA), under its ongoing anti-dengue drive, on Monday inspected 40 sites and sealed three including two bread factories and a junkyard in different areas. EPA District Officer Mian Mohammad Nawaz said that strict action was being taken against the violators to save the public from the spread of the dengue mosquitoes. The EPA teams also removed stagnant water from three dengue-breeding sites, he informed. Nawaz further said that the EPA teams visited 40 points, including 20 tyre shops, 18 junkyards, one under construction site, and a nursery. He said that the tyre shops, hotels, restaurants, nurseries, under construction sites, and other vulnerable points are regularly being checked for dengue mosquito larva. The EPA would continue to conduct such raids until the dengue mosquito was eliminated, he added.
