ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police have tightened the security in the city and have ensured extra deployment of the security personnel in various areas to avert any untoward incident.
Islamabad Police SP Muhammad Ali Nekukara has directed for effective security measures in the city besides enhancing vigilance and patrolling steps. He ordered combing and search operation in the slum areas. He has also directed for extra deployment of the police personnel, and security measures at important locations of the city, including buildings, markets, important chowks, and signals.
The SSP has directed to ensure high vigilance and strict patrolling measures in various sectors and residential areas of the city. He said that the police commandoes should be deputed around sensitive locations and important buildings. Special police teams should be constituted by each police station for effective patrolling in its respective jurisdiction, he added. Rescue-15 has been also directed for strict patrolling and keeping in touch with the heads of the police stations for ensuring security.
Nekukara also directed to specify halting points for strict checking of those entering or leaving the city. He asked all the SPs, ASP, and SDPOs to launch a crackdown against the antisocial elements, miscreants, and suspected elements. He also directed them to ensure strict checking at all the entry and exit points and keep strict watch on suspicious persons. Special search of the forest and green belts of the city has been also ordered.
He has made special directions to all the senior police officials to conduct checking at all the police pickets in their areas and make the security system more effective.
Special police deployment should be ensured at sensitive and important buildings while police officials in civil uniforms to be assigned the task for keeping vigilance against suspicious elements, he added.
He directed the beat officers to remain alert while Falcon and Eagle Squads have been also assigned the task for effective policing and patrolling in the city. The SSP has appealed all the citizens to remain extra vigilant and inform police in case of observing any suspect.
