Interior minister suspends six cops


ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan suspended six police officials over the apparent negligence shown to allow Sikh protester who entered into the Parliament’s premises on Friday. DSP Secretariat Fida Hussain SHO, Bhara kahu, Sattar Shah, DSP Banigala Safeer Shah, SHO Secretariat Abdul-Rehman, SP National Assembly Habibullah Niazi and DSP National Assembly Khalid Virk were suspended. Meanwhile, Nisar visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and inquired after the health of Pakistan Muslim League (N) General Secretary, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, who is admitted in hospital after suffering critical injuries in a road accident on March 23. The minister also inquired about the health of PML (N) MNA Major (r) Tahir Iqbal and prime minister’s personal photographer Zulfiqar Balti who is also under treatment in the same hospital. The minister also inquired after Constable Safdar Hussain, who sustained injuries in an encounter with criminals on Murree Road in Rawalpindi.
