ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain inaugurated an exhibition ‘Sohni Dharti’ at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) Islamabad on Saturday that showcased historic documents relating to Pakistan Movement and rare pictures of the leaders of Pakistan Movement besides exhibiting paintings and works of artists from all parts of the country.
In his remarks, the President while appreciating the initiative observed that the exhibition being held on the occasion of Pakistan Day celebrations would further promote the talent of the country and would also serve as a source of encouragement and inspiration to our artists.
The President took keen interest while reviewing various works and paintings of the famous artists of Pakistan. The President was briefed about various works and paintings by President Artists Association of Pakistan Mian Ijaz-ul-Hasan and Mr. Asim Akhter. The President greatly appreciated the talent and the works of various artists. He especially appreciated two sculptors Mr. Imran-ullah Hunzi and Mr. Ayub Wali.
Keeping in view the significance of the national day, rare documents of great historical significance and pictures of Quaid-i-Azam, Ms. Fatima Jinnah and other notable leaders of Pakistan Movement are also being exhibited by National College of Arts in collaboration with National Archives of Pakistan.
The works and paintings of the famous artists including Mr. Saeed Akhter, Mian Ejaz-ul-Hasan, Dr. Ejaz Anwar, Mr. Ghulam Mustafa, Mr. Mohammad Asif and others were being displayed during this exhibition. Besides, paintings of young artists and students of NCA are also on display.
The Exhibition inaugurated today is a part of week-long series of events which are being held to commemorate Pakistan Day in a befitting manner. The exhibition at PNCA will continue till 25th of March..
