NBF launches various projects to promote book reading



ISLAMABAD: The National Book Foundation (NBF) has launched a series of innovative projects, including the formation of village book clubs to promote book-reading culture. An official of the NBF said that the foundation would also set up City book Clubs, Children’s Book Clubs, Prisoners’ Free Minds Book Clubs, Senior Citizens Book Clubs, Travellers’ Book Clubs, Flying Book Clubs, and Hospital Book Clubs. “The NBF has formed a review committee to ensure the quality of books. The committee consists of senior book ambassadors and writers,” he said. He said that the committee would review the quality, content, and layout of the books, set in the matrix of the development of textbooks and general books. He said that thousands of books on various subjects including philosophy, history, religion, medicine, science, research, and other important areas of interest in Urdu and English languages would be published for the students, teachers, and researchers.
