Govt-Taliban dialogue committees to meet today

ISLAMABAD: Federal Secretary Habibullah Khattak-led newly formulated government committee and the Taliban coordination committee headed by Maulana Samiul Haq are expected to hold their first meeting today (Saturday), said the sources. It will be the first meeting of two committee following constitution of the new four member government committee headed by Federal Secretary Habbibullah Khattak. Sources said the meeting of two committees has been called by the federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan who is overseeing the whole talks process between the government and Pakistani Taliban. The meeting of two committees has great significance as the two sides will decide the place and agenda of direct talks between government side and TTP. While the officials of Interior Ministry were reluctant to confirm or deny this development on the record, an official source , however, confirmed the same. “ It is true that the Interior Minister has called the meeting of two sides on Saturday in Islamabad. Beyond that I know nothing,” an official said on anonymity.
