PIMS arranges blood bags, medicines for 2,500 patients

ISLAMABAD: The blood bank of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has arranged 100 bags of each blood group and medicines for 2,500 patients to deal with any untoward situation. PIMS spokesperson Wasim Khawaja on Thursday said that on the directives of Shaheed Zulifkar Ali Bhutto Medical University’s Vice Chancellor Javed Akram, a qualified team of medical and paramedical staff was working in the emergency round the clock. He said that all senior doctors were on call while on special directives from the vice chancellor, the university has been asked to provide standard medical cover to the protesters. He said that the hospital management had also managed the routine services of the hospital so that the admitted patients and the incoming patients other than the protesters were provided with the basic health facilities. He said that the hospital had put highly equipped ambulances on high alert to provide immediate medical assistance to the sit-in participants of PTI and PAT.
