Islamabad police to crack down on proclaimed offenders

ISLAMABAD: The heads of all the police stations have been ordered to start a crackdown against proclaimed offenders and criminal elements and ensure arrest of those at large.It was stated by Assistant Inspector General of Police Sultan Azam Temuri while addressing an open kutcheri at Bani Gala on Monday. He said that role of the community is important for the promotion of community policing in the capital and security of life and property of the residents.The AIG said that police and the public are two sides of the same coin and they should help each other to arrest criminals. Addressing the citizen committee members, he said that they should identify the elements in the police who are involved in corruption and corrupt practices, so that disciplinary action could be taken against them.Temuri also directed the SDPOs to hold open kutcheris in their respective areas to resolve the public grievances on the spot. He said that the police have devised different projects to ensure safety and security of the citizens including the up-gradation of Rescue 15. The participants appreciated the Islamabad police for holding the open kutcheri and assured their complete cooperation to the police for peace and security in the city.The participants of the event included SP Hassan Iqbal, DSP Safeer Hussain Bhatti, Bani Gala Police Station SHO Hakim Khan, Nilor Police Station SHO Fiaz Shanwari, members of the Citizen Coordination Committee, market union, member of the Mohalla Committees and residents of the area.
