CDA chief directs upgradation of Marghzar Zoo

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the CDA Environment Wing for the upgradation of Marghzar Zoo so that the people visiting the zoo could avail the best entertainment and amusement facilities.He directed the Environment Wing to adopt modern and scientific means for looking after the animals and birds and providing conducive environment. He has directed to carry out a comprehensive plan for the induction of lion, cheetah, and rare species of birds so that the Marghzar Zoo could be converted into a state-of-the-art zoo.On the directions of the CDA chairman, Member Environment Syed Mustafain Kazmi visited the Marghzar Zoo and asked the concerned officers to work out the proposals in line with the directions of the CDA chairman for the up-gradation of the zoo, adding that these proposals would be submitted to the CDA chairman for the approval and commencement of work on the project.During his visit to the Marghzar Zoo, Kazmi directed the officers concerned for necessary repair/maintenance of animal's cages and tree plantation adjacent to the cages to meet the required environmental conditions for the animals. He also directed to improve the standard of food for the animals. He said that the food of animals should be kept in hygienic conditions. He also directed to re-design the structure of the fountain in the zoo, adding that the tuck shops should also be designed as per the CDA by-laws.
