RCB to plant 40,000 saplings under tree plantation drive



RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB), under its monsoon tree plantation drive, which was launched recently, is planting saplings in all the areas of the cantonment. Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Faheem Zafar Khan, while talking to the media personnel said that 40,000 saplings would be planted in the cantonment areas. The CEO said that on special directives of Station Commander Rawalpindi, Brig Zahid Ahmed Rana, the campaign was launched on the 14th, which would continue till the 31st. Special stalls have been set up in the RCB office, Shah Baloot Park, Romi Park, and Gawalmandi Park and the citizens are being provided saplings free-of-cost, he added. He said that teams have also been constituted to plant saplings of different kinds of fruits, flowers, and shady trees at open places, along roads, and public parks to make the surrounding clean and green.
