10 gamblers among 50 lawbreakers held

RAWALPINDI: The police, under its ongoing drive against anti-social elements have arrested 50 lawbreakers, including 10 gamblers besides recovering over five kilogrammes of charas, 68 bottles of liquor, 17 pistols of 30 bore with 58 rounds, four rifles of 12 bore with eight rounds, one pistol of 9mm with three rounds, and a stolen vehicle from the possession of the arrested accused during the last three days.According to the police spokesperson, the Waris Khan police held a man and recovered 510 grammes of charas. The Sadiqabad police nabbed another accused for having 1,120 grammes of charas. The Gungmandi police netted a man for having 565 grammes of charas. The Waris Khan police rounded up another accused and recovered 1,050 grammes of charas while a man was sent behind the bars for possessing 540 grammes of charas. The Taxila police arrested another accused on the recovery of 525 grammes of charas. On the other hand, the New Town police conducted a raid at a local hotel and netted 10 gamblers. The police also recovered cash worth Rs 29,730 stake money and seven mobile phones from them.
