ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday sealed several offices of different political parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) located in the federal capital. CDA Enforcement Directorate officials along with the magistrate and capital city police conducted raids on the offices of the different political parties and sealed offices of PTI and JI for operating in the residential areas. According to the CDA enforcement official, these offices are located in residential sectors of G6/4, G6 and F7 Margalla Road respectively which were against CDA by-laws. He said that CDA had issued notices to these political parties for vacating their houses but they did not vacate their offices in due course of time. He said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has already vacated their office voluntarily after receiving notice from CDA as the operation against the commercial use of residential units is underway in the federal capital. CDA officials said that the authority had served notices to the leaders of political parties, but they did not pay heed. Thus, following the court’s directions, their offices were sealed, CDA officials added. Meanwhile, some sources also said that the secretariat of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is located in F8 and Pakistan Peoples Party’s office in also located in a residential area as well but Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) is not ready to seal the other offices. The action against PTI and JI has been taken at the behest of CADD, sources said. To discourage the commercial activities in the residential areas, many houses have been sealed by CDA. CDA chairman has directed the concerned formations of the authority to expedite the ongoing operation against the commercial use of residential units in the federal capital.
