CDA increases sanitation staff for the marches

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has increased the number of sanitation staff from 150 to 182 to provide sanitation facilities to the marches, said a spokesperson of the CDA on Tuesday.While talking to the media personnel, he said that the CDA had constituted a contingent of 182 sanitary staff, which would work round the clock in three shifts. As many as 31 workers each have been deployed to provide cleanliness facilities to both the marchers in eight hours each shift, he added. He said that in collaboration with the district administration, the CDA has established a control room at a local hotel in Aabpara. The CDA staff had been deployed in the control room to register complaints regarding the provision of clean water tankers as per the requirements of the marchers. Moreover, the CDA has deployed fire tenders and ambulances to cope with any untoward situation, the spokesperson said. He said that the environment staff has also been deployed to chop the unwanted branches of the trees at the site of the sit-ins.
