Six outlaws, ten suspects arrested

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police have arrested six outlaws involved in different criminal cases and have recovered three vehicles, mobile phones, three kilogrammes of hashish, bottles of wine, and weapons from their possession, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.According to reports, the Sihala police recovered three kilogrammes of hashish from an accused during patrolling. The Margalla police recovered 12 bottles of wine during patrolling from two persons while the police also recovered three vehilces which were found tempered after checking from the laboratory. The Tarnol police recovered two mobile phones from a thief while the Ramna police arrested an accused and recovered one 30 bore pistol with eight bullets from his possession.The Sabzi Mandi police recovered one 44 bore rifle with ammunition on the disclosure of an arrested extortionist. Cases have been registered against the accused persons and further investigation is underway. During general holdup, the Islamabad police impounded 61 motorbikes and eight vehicles for being driven without any documents while the black papers were removed from two vehicles.On the other hand, the Islamabad police performed a rehearsal to meet any kind of emergency situation through SOS calls. Senior officials including Bomb Disposal Squad, police commandos, Pakistan Rangers, Rescue-15, CID, CIA, Special Branch of the Islamabad police, traffic division, CDA fire brigade and ambulances participated in the rehearsal. The rehearsal was conducted on the directions of Islamabad police Inspector General Aftab Ahmad Cheema.During this exercise, the police officials along with commandos rushed to a site, cordoned off the area after reaching there within seven minutes and took their positions with in the time limit. During this exercise, strict checking on entry and exit points was carried out. The purpose of this rehearsal was to prepare the police for emergency situations and to ensure the security in the capital. The Islamabad IGP and Islamabad DDP Muhammad Ali Nekokara have appreciated the response of the police force and have said that all the wings approached within time and the police commandos performed well.
