— cancels holidays of staff

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has cancelled the holidays of its employees to deal with the flood situation during the monsoon season. It has taken several steps to provide information and relief to the citizens during monsoon. A comprehensive plan has been evolved by WASA in this respect. As per the plan, a flood control room has been set up in the WASA central office. Sewerage and water supply director would act as a focal person in this control room and the assistant director has been appointed as a resource person. One junior clerk and two employees for the collection of complaints would also perform their duties in the control room. Four relief and complaint offices have been set up. 10 employees would remain present 24 hours in the relief and complaint office located at Moti Mahal, eight in the office of Commercial Market, nine in Khiaban-e-Sirsyed and seven in the office of Liaqat Bagh.
