Fishermen’s arrest: Pakistan summons Indian diplomat


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday lodged a protest with India for capturing its 13 fishermen. The Indian deputy high commissioner in Islamabad was called to the Foreign Office by South Asia director general to lodge a protest over the capturing of 13 Pakistani fishermen by Indian authorities on March 15. According to Pakistan’s Fishermen Cooperative Society, the fishermen along with their boat were well within Pakistan territorial waters, at Khajar Creek, when they were captured. Pakistan has called for the immediate release of the fishermen and return of the boat. The Foreign Office conveyed its concern over the detention of the fishermen and the boat.
