RCCI approves scholarships for needy students


RAWALPINDI: The Standing Committee of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Tuesday approved educational stipends amounting to Rs 1,000,000 for the needy students. Chairing a meeting of the committee, Chairman Zafar Jamal said that the chamber body would extend all possible financial assistance from its own resources to help the needy in continuing their studies and leading a respectable life. RCCI Senior Vice President Malik Shahid Saleem, Vice President Muhammad Alam Chughtai, former president Manzar Khursheed Sheikh, and other members of the committee and chamber's executive body were also present on the occasion. Zafar Jamal said that the RCCI was ever-ready to help the poor and brilliant students facing financial constraints and wishing to continue their studies, adding that the scholarship programme was aimed at removing sense of deprivation from the students and making them useful citizens of the country.
