ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Monday termed the killing of 23 Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers by the Taliban as the most barbaric sabotage of peace negotiations. Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of the core committee of his party today (Tuesday). The meeting will discuss the Taliban talks with government and will also decide other future strategies. Imran Khan strongly condemned the killing of Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers. He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families on this irreparable loss of precious lives, a private TV channel reported. He prayed to God to rest their souls in peace. The PTI chief, in a statement, he said the barbaric act was against the teachings of Islam and must be condemned in the strongest terms. He hoped the government and military would let the nation know the veracity or otherwise of this news. The PTI chief also expressed concern over the fact that the FC men had been held prisoner since 2010 in an area that had ostensibly been cleared by the military. Imran said the government at the time, the military and the present government, had all done nothing to secure the safe release of the soldiers who seemed to have been simply forgotten. He said the nation should be told why this neglect had happened.
