RAWALPINDI: Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) would launch crackdown on rent defaulters from Feb 17 and stern action in accordance with the law would be taken against the defaulters as final notices were issued in this regard and they were directed to clear outstanding due till Feburary 15 otherwise, the shops would be sealed.
A special campaign to recover outstanding dues from the tenants, running their business in the shops of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has been launched.
Administrator Rawal Town had issued special directives for the recovery of outstanding dues from the tenants and asked the Taxation Officer that if the due payments are not cleared by the shopkeepers within stipulated timeframe then strict action should be taken against the defaulters.
After the decision taken in this regard, the defaulters were issued final notices for the payment.
According to TMA spokesman, action in accordance with the law would be taken against the defaulters and their shops would be sealed.
Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Imran Qureshi said that strict action will be taken against the defaulters, especially those who were not paying outstanding dues for several months.
He said all the outstanding dues must be cleared by the defaulters to avoid any legal action.
He said, special raids for the recovery of the outstanding dues would now be conducted on regular basis. The defaulters’ shops would be sealed and no relaxation would be given to anyone, he added.
