PML-N, PTI call meetings to mull strategies

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned an important party meeting today (Tuesday) to devise a strategy against the sit-ins of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran of Tahirul Qadri. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of his party’s core committee in Islamabad today (Tuesday) over a planned long march. Sources said that the PML-N meeting would be attended by the party’s ministers and important office bearers at the Prime Minister’s House. The PML-N leadership would mull a counter-strategy against Imran Khan and Qadri. Meanwhile, the PTI meeting will discuss arrangements of its for long march and invitation of the government to Imran Khan to participate in a ceremony of August 14. Politics of the country and its solidarity will be discussed in the meeting. The core committee will formulate an alternative strategy regarding the expected detention of PTI’s leadership. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak will brief the committee about the aid activities for IDPs of North Waziristan.
