Shopkeepers start displaying bangle stalls




ISLAMABAD: With the onset of the second Ashra of the holy month of Ramazan, the shopkeepers in the major markets of the capital have started displaying Eid accessories, especially colourful traditional bangles to attract the customers.Buying bangles, and jewellery is an essential part of Eid preparations for all the women especially young girls and they consider their preparations incomplete without these things. Eid is the major occasion when shopkeepers get an opportunity to earn good business through selling bangles and other stuff as majority of the girls rush to buy these things, despite price hike situation and their limited purchasing capacity. “It is Eidul Fitr when I gift many sets of bangles to all my friends to share the happiness Eid with them,” Nazia Tabassum, a school goer said. Hamid, a shopkeeper said, “I have started displaying the stocked variety of colourful bangles. Eid is the only occasion when the sale of bangles rises and young girls buy bangles without arguing much on price.” He said the price of simple bangles ranges between Rs 200 to Rs500 while the price of glittering, embroided, and beeded with stone are from Rs 1000 up to Rs 2000 and even more.
