Cops deployed in capital suffer food poisoning

ISLAMABAD: At least 140 policemen, deployed to thwart the Azadi and Inqilab marchers moving to the capital in an anti-government protest fell ill due to food poisoning on Wednesday. Heavy contingent of the police has been deployed on the entrance and exit points of the twin cities to stop the marchers. Reports said that the cops fell ill after consuming contaminated food and they were moved to federal government services hospital (Poly Clinic) for medical treatment. Their condition was said to be out of danger. A total of 21,000 security personnel are deployed around D-Chowk under the security plan devised by the capital city administration, on directions of the Ministry of Interior.
