AIOU’s admission fee can be submitted till Sept 5

ISLAMABAD: The admission forms of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) along-with the required fee can be submitted at the nationwide branches of specified banks till September 5.The banks include Habib Bank Ltd., First Women Bank, Bank Al-falah, Allied Bank, and designated branches of the National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank. The detail of the designated branches is available in the prospectuses as well as in the regional offices, said AIOU Admissions Director Syed Ziaul Hasnain. The last date for the submission the admission form September 5. He said that the admissions forms and the prospectuses could be obtained from the sale points at the main campus and its regional campuses. The admission forms and prospectus of matric, FA, and BA level programmes for the Pakistanis in the Middle East can be downloaded from website of the university.The admissions director said that in line with the recent judgment of the Lahore High Court and the notification of the HEC, the condition of the GAT test for the admissions of MPhil and PhD has been removed. The students seeking admissions in the higher education (MPhil and PhD) would not be required to pass the GAT test, conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS). He said that the entry test for the admissions in these programmes would now be conducted by the relevant departments, as per the requirement of the HEC and rules and conditions laid down under the university’s charter.The admissions of MBA are being offered in HRM, Marketing, IT, and Banking and Finance. MA in Arabic, Islamic studies and Urdu, postgraduate diploma in gender and women studies, and HRM has also been offered. In Bachelor programmes, BS (computer science), mass communication, BCom, and BLIS are being offered, while associate degrees are being offered in tourism management, hotel management, hospital management, Accounting and Finance, Banking and Finance, Human Resource Management, IT Management, and Marketing Management.Further details about the admissions for the autumn semester can be obtained from the information management unit, and Admission Department at Phone number 051-9057151.
