Rawalpindi police faces staff shortage



RAWALPINDI: The shortage of staff has led to increased crime rates in the city. The police needs 2,650 more employees and five police stations to beat the crime rate, the officials said. According to reports, vacancies of 30 inspectors, 10 Inspectors legal, 60 sub-inspectors, 40 ASI, 200 head constables, and approximately 2,300 constables are empty in the Rawalpindi District. The sources said that former CPO DIG Azher Hammed Khokher had sent proposals of five new police stations to the Punjab IG but after his removal, no development had taken place yet in this regard.
