Four arrested for robbing housewives of gold ornaments

ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has arrested four accused persons including three women, who used to take away gold ornaments as well as cash from the house-wives in various areas through fraud or alluring them for hefty profit in return, a police spokesperson said on Thursday.Following certain complaints, Islamabad SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara assigned task to SP (Investigation) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi to ensure arrest of those involved in minting money and taking gold from simpletons through fraudulent activities. He constituted a special team under supervision of CIA DSP Hassan Raza Shah which included Sub-Inspector Muhammad Tehseen, ASI Sultan Tipu, and others. This team worked hard and succeeded to arrest four persons including three women and recovered cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 11 million from them. This gang confessed to allure house-wives by offering them huge profit in case they give them cash and gold ornaments.The police team recovered gold worth Rs 2 million, and cash worth Rs 1 million which they took from the houses in the Pona Faqeeran area. The gold ornaments worth Rs 300,000 were recovered from a house situated in Mohrian. Gold ornaments worth Rs 700,000 that was taken have been recovered from a house in Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. The Islamabad SSP has appreciated this performance and has appealed the citizens to avoid such people who entice them. He said that the Islamabad IGP would be requested for special prizes to the team members who have nabbed these alleged fraudsters.
