ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid Sunday said that Imran Khan, seeing his imminent defeat, wants the crowd storm into the field and disturb the match, giving him a pretext to run away.
Commenting on the PTI protest rally, the minister, talking in the cricket terminology, said that Imran Khan is evading to play the full innings of 50 overs and wants to win the final without playing the quarter-final and that too with umpires of his own choice.
He said that Imran Khan’s performance in the first 10 overs of his quarterfinal match could be gauged from the performance of his Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He said Imran Khan wants to attack the system by bringing spectators in the field.
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said Imran Khan should go to the election tribunals for redressal of his complaints of rigging in the general election last year.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, he said PTI should not waste time on roads. He said Imran Khan was part of the same system which he is opposing. Khan’s politics is ‘immature’, he added.
Saad said Tahir-ul-Qadri and Imran Khan are levelling baseless allegations that their supporters were stopped from participating in the rallies. He said the PML-N government is working sincerely to steer the country out of crises and has done a lot over the last 11 months. He said drone attacks have ended, peace talks are underway, rupee has gained value against dollar, new power projects have started and investors are now coming to Pakistan.
