Mushroom growth of illegal kiosks turns Rawal Lake into a commercial area

While talking to the media personnel, Hassan Ali, a visitor said that the large number of kiosks established at the lake view presents the ugly picture of the park. He said that without any permission from the authorities concerned, a riding club is working and polluting the atmosphere. He said that an illegal swing have been installed at the green belt, posing threats to life and property of the visitors. When contacted, an official of the Environment Directorate of the CDA, on condition on anonymity, said that the authority was well aware of such illegal activities of the encroachers, adding that strict action would be taken against illegal swings if not removed. He said that the authority has already started the operation against the encroachers.
