Police arrests man suspected of boy's rape, murder

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police arrested an accused for the murder of a ten-year-old boy in the area of Koral.During the initial investigation, the accused disclosed that he took the boy to an under-construction house and strangled him to death after raping him. According to reports, a person gave an application in the Koral police station that on June 4 his son went out of his house but did not return back. After searching, his body was found from a bathroom of an under-construction house. The Koral Police Station has registered a case of the murder against unidentified persons. Due to the gravity of the case, Islamabad SSP Muhammad Ali Naikokar has given the task to a team comprising SP (Investigation) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi, and SP (Rural) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh to apprehend the murderers.The investigating team collected information from the area through its sources and on the basis of the evidence gathered from the crime scene and reached the conclusion that a young man, Usman Amjad was allegedly involved. The raiding police party has arrested the accused who said that he worked as a painter in Ghori Town and his father lives abroad. He said that he took the boy to an under-construction house where he first raped him and later strangled him to death. The Islamabad SSP has appreciated the performance of the police team and has announced commendation certificates and cash prizes for them. He has instructed the local police to deal with the case on merit and send challan against the accused to the court.Moreover, the police under its ongoing drive against the anti-social elements arrested 39 lawbreakers and recovered over 10 kilogrammes of charas, 81 bottles of liquor, and 20 litres of wine. The police also recovered 10 pistols of 30 bore with 87 rounds, one rifle of 222 bore with 30 rounds, one revolver with two rounds, 450 litres of diesel and firework items from the possession of the accused arrested.According to reports, the Bunni police held an accused for having 510 grammes of charas. The Naseerabad police netted another accused and recovered 520 grammes of charas. The Civil Line police arrested a person for carrying 560 grammes of charas while the Gujar Khan police rounded up another accused and seized 1,110 grammes of charas. The Saddar Baroni police sent behind the bars a man for having 1,250 grammes of charas while two others were nabbed for possessing 520 and 1,250 grammes of charas. The Kalar Syedan police booked a man and recovered 1,150 grammes of charas. The Taxila police arrested a person and seized 2,120 grammes of charas. The Jatli police netted a man for carrying 515 grammes of charas. The Waris Khan police arrested an accused and recovered 10 bottles of liquor. The Naseerabad police apprehended a man with five bottles of liquor. Others accused were sent behind the bars for having liquor bottles, drugs, and illegal weapons. Meanwhile, the Sadiqabad police held two persons for running an illegal petrol agency and recovered 450 litres of diesel. The Race Course police conducted a raid at a wedding ceremony and netted a man for using fireworks.On the other hand, the Rawalpindi district police arrested 15 shisha smokers from Span Cafe Restaurant. According to police spokesperson, the Murree police conducted raid at a shisha centre and arrested 15 shisha smokers. The police also recovered hookahs and other items from their custody. The police, under the special operation launched on the orders of the Rawalpindi CPO, is taking action against the Shisha centres and the shisha smokers.
