ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: Police on Thursday launched a special search operation in Swan camp adjoining the Rawalpindi Bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) to check suspected elements residing there.
During the operation, the police inspected 50 houses and interrogated 40 persons but found no objectionable activity.
Besides, police teams are visiting different hotels and markets to keep any eye on anti-social elements, a police spokesman told APP here.
Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested at least 10 proclaimed offenders (POs) and two court absconders during a search operation.
The search operation was conducted in the areas of police stations Sadiqabad, Ratta Amral, RA Bazaar, Civil Line, Saddar Bairooni, Banni, Kotli Sattian and Murree.
Meanwhile, amidst growing mystery about who unleashed brutality over Islamabad district courts, the police on Thursday arrested two suspected brothers in connection with the incident.
According to sources, Zakaullah and Saleemullah, who are also the brothers of Sanaullah – a sub-commander of an outlawed group of the Taliban – have been arrested by the police from Bhara Kahu.
It merits mentioning here that Sanaullah was killed along with Taliban commander Asmatullah Shaheen in the tribal areas.
The suspected brothers are being interrogated about the terrorist attack at the courts.
So far, law enforcement agencies have not come by any concrete evidence regarding their involvement in the case, while the police have recorded the stances and statements of many other witnesses regarding the Islamabad district courts attack.
