Guards to be appointed for security of parks

RAWALPINDI: The Parks and Horticulture Agency (PHA) have decided to recruit security guards to improve the security situation in the public parks. The sources said that the PHA managing director (MD) was told in a meeting that the citizens do not pay any heed to the requests from the gardeners deployed on cultivating and protecting the flowers and plants in the public parks and cause damage to them. Therefore, PHA MD Muhammad Akram Soban has decided to appoint one or two guards each in 43 small and large public parks in the city. He has also accorded the approval to pay salary to these guards equal to the wages of a laborer. The sources said that the PHA has given final shape to the plan of the recruitment of the security guards.
