Islamabad police, Rangers arrest 37 suspects during joint operation

ISLAMABAD: The teams of the Pakistan Rangers (PR) and the Islamabad police on Wednesday conducted a joint search operation in the slums of Bhara Kahu and nabbed 37 suspects, including nine Afghans, a police spokesperson said.Following the directions from Islamabad SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara, a search operation was conducted in the Bhara Kahu area, which was participated by the teams of Pakistan Rangers and the Bhara Kahu Police Station. SP Mustansar Ferooz, Secretariat SDPO Khalid Nadeem, the Bhara Kahu Police Station SHO, contingents of the Pakistan Rangers, and officials of the other security agencies supervised the operation. During this search operation, 37 suspects including nine Afghans have been arrested who are being investigated further. The SP (city) has said that the Afghan cards of the nabbed suspects would be verified and their mobile phones record would be obtained. He said that the Islamabad police have set up a cell with the latest technology to trace the links of such suspects with criminal elements, dacoits, or car lifters if any. SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara has further directed to maintain high vigilance and conduct search operations in the under construction buildings, hotels, inns, slums, and other areas. Meanwhile, the Islamabad police also recovered SMG gun, and pistol along with ammunition from the accused arrested. Further investigation is underway from them.
