Anti-dengue drive underway

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-dengue drive initiated by the district health department is underway and surveillance is being carried out in 46 union councils of the Rawal Town. Talking to APP, the District Health Officer and Incharge Anti dengue campaign Dr Tahir said on Tuesday that health teams are regularly visiting the dengue affected areas where fumigation is being carried out to destroy larva breeding. The DHO said the drive, which is in full swing, would continue till October. Under the ongoing vigorous drive, DHO told APP that 190 female health workers, and a special male squad in each union council were fully participating in the drive to take preventive measures and effectively fight chronic disease. He said that it was the responsibility of every citizen to play his role for controlling Dengue and protecting citizens from this dangerous disease by adopting all precautionary measures and taking steps for ensuring cleanliness and not to allow stagnant water in our surroundings.
