First Friday of Ramazan: prayers offered for nation’s prosperity


ISLAMABAD: The worshiping places of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi witnessed massive attendance on the first Friday of Ramazan ul Mubarak with faithful seeking salvage of human beings from all evils and sins to develop a society full of high principals of humanism, love and brotherhood.Many had accompanied their children with their glowing and shiny faces on this sunny afternoon and they were fully absorbed in worships, deeming it as an precious opportunity to seek repentance from Allah Almighty for the past sins. Ulema delivered a special sermons with focus on the importance of fasting during the holy month of Ramazan in historic prospective, besides highlighting code of conduct for a fasting person throughout the day and night in light of Hadith and Sunnah.They also prayed Allah Almighty to grant perseverance and patience to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan who had been staying in camps and braving extreme weather conditions during the hot weather to get through the current ordeal and return safely soon their homes. Seeking from Allah Almighty reward to citizens for contributions and proceeds they were extending towards these affected populace, Ulema appealed philanthropists to come forward and provide their share in helping out in the holy month these displaced people in this critical hour.Besides, praying for prosperity of the country’s citizen, Ulema also offered special prays for protecting Muslims and restoration of peace especially in war-ravaged country like Iraq and Afghanistan.Anticipating high intake, alms receivers were also found with their hands extending and giving free prays for each who passed by.The city’s administration had provided elaborate security cover to the worshipers with deputing at least one policeman at entrance of worshiping place to keep eye on suspicious elements in order to maintain order and peace. As many as 2500 personnel including policemen, security guards and mosque guards have been assigned the task to perform security duties during the holy month.
