AIOU opens admissions for Pakistanis in Middle East


ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has opened admissions of Arabic course, SSC (matric), HSSC (Intermediate), and bachelor’s (BA) level programmes for the Pakistanis in the Middle East.The Pakistanis in the Middle East countries can download the admission forms from the university’s website del.aiou.edu.pk. Admissions director Syed Ziaul Hasnain announced this. For further details, the applicants have been advised to contact the Directorate of Overseas Education and E-Learning, ICT building, AIOU Islamabad or at their phone no 051-9057165, 051-9250175. In addition, the admission form and prospectuses for the autumn semester from matric to PhD level programmes can be obtained from the sale points at the main campus in the capital and at its regional campuses and coordinating offices across the country in order to facilitate the students at their doorsteps.The admission forms along with the prescribed fee could be submitted in countrywide branches of Bank Al-Falah, Habib Bank Ltd, First Women Bank and Allied Bank and at the nominated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank. The detail of designated branches is available in the prospectuses as well as in the regional offices. PhD, MS/MPhil, MSc (statistics), COL (MBA/MPA), and LLM/MS Shari’ah have been offered on merit basis, and all those interested for the admissions in these programmes should send their admission forms directly to their departments concerned without admission fee according to the procedures laid down in the prospectus, he added.There would be no requirement of GAT test for admission in PhD and MS/Mphil programmes; however the department concerned would conduct the entry test. According to Admissions director, the continuing admission forms have already been dispatched to all the continuing students, however, if somehow any of the student has not received the said admission form, he/she can download the same from the AIOU’s website www.aiou.edu.pk.
