I did not convey any message to Imran, says Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Awami Muslim League (AML), Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed said on Tuesday that he did not convey any message to Imran Khan, and claimed that the PTI chairman never spoke in favour of democracy’s derailment. Addressing a press conference he said after Imran Khan resignation from the National Assembly, he will follow him. “Tomorrow I will go to attend the joint session of the parliament, and will speak there,” he added. Rasheed said neither parliament nor democracy faced any threat. Refuting the claims of Javed Hashmi, he said he did not convey any message to Imran Khan. “Notwithstanding, it was really my wish that PTI and PAT march together,” he added. He also claimed that the Javed Hashmi matter was raised just to divert people’s attention. He regretted that the government and Javed Hashmi have dragged the judiciary and security forces into political matters. The AML leader claimed that there is no threat to democracy in the country.
