Students denied admission at government colleges

RAWALPINDI: Thousands of students from Rawalpindi and Cantt, who have passed the matric examination in 3rd and 2nd division, have been denied admission in the first year class in the name of merit in all the government colleges. The College Directorate had decided to operate two new boys degree colleges in Khiaban-e-Sirsyed and Dhok Syedan in but this matter stands shelved now and no new admissions would be started in these two colleges, despite the completion of the construction work. Following the denial of admission in the government colleges, the students having passed the Matric examination in the 3rd and 2nd division are bound to take admission in the private colleges and academies, as they have unleashed loot and plunder spree by raising the admission fee and tuition fee manifold. The district management had decided to launch evening classes in different colleges but this step would also not provide any solution to the pressing problem to accommodate thousands of students, due to high merit. The students, their parents, and student organisations have demanded for allowing the admission in all the colleges on first come first served basis.
