CTP distributes pamphlets among citizens about lane discipline

RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police under its special awareness campaign launched for better flow of traffic and for giving awareness to the citizens about “lane and line” and traffic rules have distributed 5,460 pamphlets. According to Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, pamphlets are being distributed and banners have been posted on different and important places in the city for awareness about the lane and line discipline. The awareness about the lane and line discipline is also being given to bike riders, drivers of public service buses, and drivers of private cars, he said adding that the ongoing campaign was launched on Thursday. He said that the CTP is running a special campaign aimed at raising awareness about traffic rules and road safety. Mobile Education Unit of the CTP is arranging special briefing sessions on lane and line discipline at different points, he added. In order to make the campaign more effective and meaningful, traffic wardens and officers were issued special instructions, he said adding that the Education Wing of the Traffic police has been making efforts to spread awareness so that the road journey could be made safer. Special efforts are being made to educate the citizens regarding traffic rules and road safety. The CTO urged the people to cooperate with the traffic wardens as they are on the roads to facilitate them. Traffic signals should not be violated as such violation with negligent driving may lead to fatal accidents. He said that the traffic police was also disseminating information on various roads and traffic signals in order to educate citizens about traffic rules, signals, and the damages caused by traffic violations.
