EPA inspects 183 sites in anti-dengue drive

RAWALPINDI: The Environment Protection Agency (EPA), under its ongoing anti-dengue drive, have inspected 183 sites in different localities of the city during last six days and declared them clear of dengue larva. EPA teams visited 99 tyre shops,72 junkyards and godowns, six nurseries and six under construction sites in Gawalmandi, Chaklala, Dhoke Ali Akbar, Farooq-e-Azam Road, Asghar Mall and Kuri Road for inspection and prevention of lethal dengue mosquito’s possible brought-up in the monsoon season, District Environment Officer Mian Muhammad Nawaz told APP here Friday. Although, he said, the EPA teams found no dengue larva during the inspection, but all preventive measures were being taken to keep the surroundings clear of dengue mosquito.
