ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said the PML-N government has neither resorted to politics of revenge nor will it do so in future. Responding to PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s stern statement against the PML-N government and its leadership, he said the “politics of 90s” had been buried by both Benazir Bhutto and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Speaking at a press conference, he said PML-N respects Zardari who, he added, was misinformed in taking such a strict stance against the government. “Awarding punishment or revoking it doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of the government,” said the minister, adding that neither was the PML-N government pursuing politics of vengeance nor had it done so in the past. “We all support Pakistan Army. It enjoys the backing of the whole nation,” he added. Commenting on the upcoming by-polls in NA-122 and NA-154, the minister said PTI Chairman Imran Khan was trying to avoid them.
