Religious Affairs Ministry announces scholarships

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced scholarship programme 2014-15 for the deserving regular students of the minority community, studying in various government institutions of the country.According to an official of the ministry, the deserving and poor aspirants of Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Buddhists, and Mirzai, etc community students have been directed to submit their applications by September 30, to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. He said that the regular students of the government run educational institutions who have secured at least 50 percent marks in the last exams have been declared eligible for submitting the application. Orphans, destitute, needy, and poor students, having good educational record would be eligible for submitting the application for getting the scholarship, he said.The head of the educational institutions have been directed to check the veracity of the claim of the monthly income of the guardian of the student. The attested marks sheet, and a progress report must be attached with the application form. Mark sheet on plain paper would be rejected. The application must be submitted through the head of the respective schools, colleges, or universities along with a covering letter. The students already getting scholarship from any other source would not be eligible for submitting the application. The students must attach the attested copies of their computerised national identity card (CNIC) or form B, email address, and phone number. The application forms can be downloaded from the website
