KABUL - Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Monday once again called on militants to renounce violence and join peace process.
President Karzai was speaking after attending the Eid al-Fitr prayers in ARG Presidential Palace.
He urged the militant group leaders to stop war on Afghan people and not to further destabilize the country by allowing the terrorist groups to operate in Afghanistan.
Karzai expressed deep concerns regarding the growing violence in Afghanistan during the recent months and said wave of violence has dramatically increased following the conduct of the elections.
Karzai also hailed the Afghan security forces for defending the Afghan people and their country against the offensive of the militants.
In regard to the elections, Karzai said he was hopeful that the process will be finalized as soon as possible so that the situation move towards normality and the Afghan people have their new elected president and government.
