LONDON – Six more bomb threats have been made to schools in the West Midlands in the latest in a series of hoaxes, Birmingham Mail reported on Monday. Police initiated investigations after calls were made on Monday morning, but officers believe the alerts to be false and pupils have been allowed to continue in class. The calls were made just after 8am and some of the schools were late starting lessons. It is the fourth time in a fortnight that some schools have been threatened. “This morning we have reports of a further six bomb threats, following similar threats made to several schools last week. At this stage there is nothing to suggest there is any credible threat to any of the schools,” West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Colin Mattinson said. “Our response officers have been sent to the locations to ensure there is no threat to anyone’s safety and support the schools. A police investigation is ongoing to find the person responsible for these calls,” he added.
