Lahore is indeed always the first one to know. Be it of a restaurant opening, a pricey designer collection gone on sale, a demonstration outside the Quaid-e-Azam library or newly-announced national holiday. Lahore is almost always the first one to know! However, the Friday that preceded us, the Friday that was, treated not just the Lahoris first but Islooiites as well as the Karachiites to a fabulous screening of the ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.
Hosted by the multi-talented choreographer and entrepreneur Hasan Rizvi in Karachi, the Lahore and Islamabad screening was organised by the creative team at Verve Event Management.
Mountain Dew arranged the premier show in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad exclusively for the ‘X-Men’ aficionados, which was attended by the crème de la crème of our industry. Many known faces attended in throngs to be part of the first day, first show.
With a star-studded international cast including Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart, led by Director Bryan Singer, the seventh film in the ‘X-Men’ franchise unites stars from across the ‘X-Men’ generations for an epic cinematic journey of good versus evil.
Known to celebrate the inception of each and every venture, partnership and launch with a larger-than-life grandiose and appeal, Lahoris got down to celebrate the exclusive screening of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ by turning up in large numbers and dressed in their elitest best. We caught up with the event manager Imtisal Zafar, who shared a few words with us on his vision to recreate the superhero effect on set, “What I wanted to do with the set up of this event was to recreate the set from the movie itself by constructing a make shift Cerebro room. In addition we created three photo booths where guests could either pose as Wolverine, Storm or Magneto using the character props and get their pictures taken. This made the whole event very interactive. The ambience was designed keeping a very futuristic setting in mind, with high tech LED and SMD lighting depicting the space age world of the ‘X-Men’ in the future.”
We had the gorgeous Muneeza Anwar from Pepsi to also share a few words and thoughts with us regarding the screening the Pepsico partnership with 20th Century Fox, “Cinema is an important platform for Mountain Dew and the brand has a strong legacy of bringing relevant and exciting movies to consumers. Moundain Dew and ‘X-Men’ was another such global partnership through, which Dew and ‘X-Men’ fans got a chance to experience the movie in an unprecedented way.”
