Sir: The country is in a tumultuous crisis. The federal and provincial governments are barrelling towards collapse but our rulers are not in a mood to improve their governance even at this moment and deliver some relief to the people of Pakistan. It is an indisputable fact that our mercantile economy has improved but our political economy has worsened. The undercurrents one can gather after consistent political crises clearly suggest that the future is not very bright, at least in terms of honest political leadership. Imran Khan also has turned out to be an unreliable person. However, the media and civil society must focus on that which remains beneath the radar instead of trivia in order to help the country and its people. HASHIM ABRO Islamabad
