Sir: The Kashmir issue can only be sorted out through an out-of-box solution, which is mutually agreed to by all the three stakeholders. The only formula that can be applied by the government is that it should compel the members of Security Council to pass a new resolution for holding a referendum or plebiscite in Kashmir under the auspices of the United Nations peacekeeping forces. The Kashmiris must be given the right of self-determination, as was given to the people of Scotland in 2014. The fluctuating Indo-Pak relations were one of the factors delaying the resolution of the Kashmir problem. It is high time that the people of Kashmir are given their God-given right of freedom.
